This painting treats time as a form of metabolism rather than chronology, which is why it doesn’t pass; it transmits. I placed the hourglass like a philosophical irritant, a reminder that mystical language often tries to skip the arithmetic of consequence, and that the body is where every theory of transcendence is tested: inversion, incubation, witness, each one a way of enduring the interval between an old self and a new capacity. The mushrooms, in this sense, become an epistemology: knowledge here is not collected by force; it ripens, it ferments, it returns.
