Dalla reclusione alla creatività

“From Imprisonment to Creativity” is connected to the Palestinian issue, drawing free inspiration from the ongoing genocide in Gaza and from the heated debate that took place on the Italian TV program “È sempre Carta Bianca” hosted by Bianca Berlinguer, featuring Enzo Iacchetti and Eyal Mizrahi, an Israeli Jew. During that discussion, Mizrahi chillingly asked, “Define child,” after Iacchetti had pointed out the number of innocents — including children — killed by the Israeli army.

From that moment, I decided to link this year’s theme to that shocking exchange on television — “Define child.”

In fact, my painting represents nothing but a child, trapped among the ruins of Gaza, his gaze lost yet filled with the hope of one day living again, nurturing his creativity toward a better world — unaware that a young man in an academic studio is watching him.

That young man is none other than himself in the future, when this nightmare will finally be over.
