ArtistaDonna Sarda
On the canvas, I applied a base of gesso, over which I laid gold leaf to embellish the painting and enhance the effect of the traditional Sardinian filigree.
The buttons used are real. The subject is a woman wearing traditional attire typical of the Nuoro area.
I chose this costume because I was struck by its vibrant colors and decorations rich in meaning.Nuoro, the heart of Sardinia, represents for me the warmth, strength, and hospitality of my land.“I paint the roots of my homeland, the faces that tell its story, and the garments that preserve its memory.
In every thread of gold, a fragment of history and love.”
