L’urlo di Gaza

The Scream of Gaza is a contemporary work that echoes the past while remaining painfully current. The painting arises from the need to reveal and raise awareness about today’s horrific conditions. The gold background separates the figures, creating a sacred atmosphere reminiscent of Byzantine art. This same background is scratched, allowing a vivid, blood-red color to emerge beneath the surface. The figures come to life inspired by a real reference to the genocide, then transform in the lower section to dehumanize the figure of the child, who appears almost unreal, like a specter. In contrast, the father’s scream remains powerful and devastating.
