ArtistaVicoli di Storia
In this work, I wanted to tell the story of Modica through its narrow alleyways, walls worn by time, and architectures that bear the marks of history. I wasn’t interested in a faithful representation of the place, but rather in the atmosphere one breathes while walking through these streets: a blend of memory, silence, and lived life.
I worked through layers and material marks, allowing colors and textures to build the image gradually. Architectural elements emerge and fade into the background, like memories that surface and then dissolve. Earth tones, greens, and blues recall the stone, the dampness of the alleys, and the light filtering between the buildings.
Vicoli di Storia is my way of paying homage to Modica: a city not only to be seen with the eyes, but to be felt through its surfaces, its wounds, and its timeless beauty.
