The cuts on the outer canvas lead the viewer to wonder what lies behind, pushing curiosity to the point of wanting to look at the canvas on the reverse side in order to discover every small and hidden secret.

Dr. Elisabetta La Rosa, art critic, in a critical note on the artwork, writes:
“An artwork in which the artist seeks to give a ‘symbolic place to space within the time of the depicted faces.
The work is treated in a material way, creating a groove, a hole in the canvas.

Time flows, thus giving depth to the composition.
The predominant female figure seems to embody the symbolism of the vital flow that runs through it, evoking the marking of phases and ages of life, recalled by the female figure itself.”
