ArtistaThe sea
This canvas is not just an abstraction of the sea, it is an emotional experience inspired by Mark Rothko’s depth and color philosophy. There are no familiar outlines of a wave or horizon, but there is a feeling of vastness, solidity and inner peace that arises in the viewer when looking at the work.
Inspired by Rothko, I used rich, multi-layered color fields to convey not so much the appearance of the sea as its emotional essence. Deep blue and turquoise layers seem to breathe, flowing into each other, the soft border between the colors creates the effect of meditative immersion. In the center of the composition is a bright, almost transparent stripe, symbolizing hope and inner light, which can always be found even in the deepest silence.
The viewer, looking at this abstraction, can feel how his own emotions begin to resonate with the color and space of the painting. There is a feeling of calm, peace, but at the same time — a slight longing and expectation of change. The painting invites you to stop, slow down, allow yourself to dissolve into color and feel that fine line between rest and movement, which Rothko so masterfully conveys.
This is not just an image of the sea — it is a space for emotional experience, where everyone can find their own meaning, remember something important, or just allow themselves to be in the moment.
